From 23 February to 1 March, the international chess tournament Open Sesvete 2025 took place in n Croatia. The competition was attended by 77 chess players, including FIDE Masters and Candidate Masters.

On March 1, the International Women’s Grandmaster Tournament started in Serbia. The event is attended by chess players from five federations: FIDE, India, Serbia, Germany, and Montenegro.
