Somalia
From January 2 to 11, the National Chess Championship was held in Somalia. Nineteen chess players of various ages and skill levels met each other at the board.
The participants played 9 rounds with the 90+30 time control. The games were broadcasted live on the idChess platform.

Saudi Arabia
From January 4 to 6, a chess tournament organized by the Pawn Takes Chess Club took place in Saudi Arabia. The participants played 6 rounds with a time control of 10 minutes per game plus a 5-second increment per move.

Uzbekistan
On January 13, the Chess Championship for schoolchildren aged 7 to 17 started in Uzbekistan. The competition features 840 young chess players who qualified through regional stages of the country.
The championship includes standard, rapid, and blitz categories and will run until January 20.
